Experience Liechtenstein Trail
A Zurich man visits Tina
Tina Weirather
Tina Weirather shows in short videos some of her favorite places along the 75 km long Liechtenstein Trail. In the past, these videos have also attracted the attention of Zurich presenter and comedian Stefan "Büssi" Büsser, who has commented on Tina's videos with cheeky remarks. Without further ado, Tina invited "Büssi" to the Principality to introduce him to the country and its people. And "Büssi" did indeed come to Liechtenstein and set off with Tina on the Liechtenstein Trail.
Gutenberg Castle
A view over half the country
Gutenberg Castle is a highly visible high medieval castle in the southernmost municipality of the country, Balzers. From the castle hill, which is about 70 meters high, Tina has a wonderful view of half the country and tells us, among other things, that the people of Zurich once tried to take this castle - unsuccessfully, of course.
Liechtenstein TreasureChamber
From the prince's hat to the Fabergé egg
The TreasureChamber displays a representative selection of treasures from the princely collections such as works of art made of precious materials, historical weapons, representative gifts from kings and emperors such as Frederick II the Great and Emperor Joseph II. Tina is particularly taken with the world-famous "Apple Blossom Egg" by Fabergé and the princely hat.
In the centre of Vaduz
Exciting facts about Liechtenstein
In Vaduz, museums, architecture, shopping and restaurants are located in the pedestrian zone over a length of a few hundred meters. In the capital of Liechtenstein, Tina lists some exciting facts about Liechtenstein that you probably don't know yet.
Important visitor from Zurich
Tina and Büssi with the Lamas
The first stop on Stefan Büsser's visit is Triesenberg for llama trekking. Here it quickly becomes apparent that "Büssi" is a real "llama climber". Tina challenges him to a little competition, which the fearless Zurich native bravely takes on.
Is the prince at home?
Tina and Büssi at Vaduz Castle
The second stop on Stefan Büsser's visit leads to the landmark of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Vaduz Castle. "Büssi" naturally wants to go inside the castle, but that's not possible because the Princely Family has its residence in the castle. Tina, however, shows "Büssi" other ways in which he can get a glimpse behind the walls of Vaduz Castle.
Hiking is not "Büssi's" pleasure
Tina and Büssi in the mountains
The third stop takes Tina and Stefan to the mountain resort of Malbun 1600 meters above sea level. Tina encourages Büssi to go for a hike, but the hike-lazy Zurich man outwits Tina with a trick and has the big plateau all to himself.
On the trail of the Wals
Büssi understands nothing
The fourth stop takes Tina and Stefan to the Profatschen homestead, a listed building near the Walser village of Triesenberg. Here, the exhausted "Büssi" has earned a break. Tina doesn't let him rest for long, however, because Büssi also needs to be introduced to the world of legends.
Pure idyll at the Castellum winery
Tina and Büssi betting
The last stop on Stefan Büsser's visit to Liechtenstein is the Castellum winery in Eschen. Büssi clearly feels at home here with a glass of wine and enjoys the atmosphere on the Eschnerberg. But he is not too tired for a little bet yet.
Wirtschaft zum Löwen
Lunch break with a view
In the tranquil district of Hinterschellenberg, the 6th generation family business, the "Wirthschaft zum Löwen", is located in a former farmhouse that is over 450 years old. Tina settles down comfortably here and enjoys the view. What she will order has been clear for a long time!
Ruggeller Riet
Discovery tour in the nature reserve
The Ruggeller Riet, a peat area, is a nature reserve of about 90 hectares in the very north of Liechtenstein. Fauna and especially flora offer Tina a wonderful nature experience here.
Visiting Norman Vögeli at the falconry
Very close to the king of the air
As a supplement to the Liechtenstein Trail on the valley side, there is also a 7-kilometer circuit in the Liechtenstein mountain village of Malbun. Tina Weirather takes the opportunity to visit falconer Norman Vögeli from the Galina falconry. She learns a lot of exciting things about the king of the skies and the worldwide unique walk with the eagle in Malbun.
Forst high-rope adventure park
Pure action at airy heights
In the three courses with different levels of difficulty, everyone finds a special outdoor experience in the rope park in the forest in Triesen. Tina masters the course with skill, concentration and courage and obviously feels comfortable at airy heights.
Burg Schalun
Rest and relaxation at the place of power
Schalun is a castle ruin, also known as a wild castle, situated on an exposed rocky ridge between Schaan and Vaduz. The ruin is located in the middle of the forest and is a place of power for Tina, where she likes to recharge her batteries.
