Liechtenstein Hut Tour on Route 66

Day 1: Arrival from Vaduz + public transport journey to Malbun.
Depending on arrival and time available, there is the option of spending a day and a night in the idyllic resort of Malbun. The mountain summer offers many attractive offers, especially in family-friendly Malbun, which can be used free of charge by the hotel guest.

If you are full of energy and want to start right away, take the Sareis chairlift to 2000 m or hike to the Sareiserjoch. From there, the Fürstin Gina Trail follows a ridge path between bright alpine flowers to the Augstenberg. Then it's down to the Pfälzerhütte on a challenging trail that is steep in places. Duration approx. 4 hours.

-- Dinner (half board) and overnight stay at the Pfälzerhütte (2108 m above sea level).

Day 2: Invigorating breakfast and marching provisions for the road.
For early risers we recommend the one-hour ascent to Naafkopf to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise. The Naafkopf (2570 m above sea level) is where the borders of Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein meet. With a bit of luck, you may also see rock deer.

The return route is back to the Pfälzerhütte. Late risers start their day's route from here.
The trail leads down to Alp Gritsch. From there the trail winds in serpentines through the steep Retta rock face down through the romantic Valünatal valley, past the beautifully situated Alp Valüna (refreshments available) to the Gänglesee lake. We recommend a hotel in Triesenberg or Malbun for the overnight stay. Duration approx. 4 hours.

Day 3: Hearty breakfast and marching provisions for the road.
After a short ascent to the old tunnel, a panoramic ridge (centre of Liechtenstein) leads to Silum and on to Gaflei. Here a challenging tour starts via the Fürstensteig and the Drei Schwestern - two bold and magnificently constructed mountain climbs, which are connected by a beautiful and impressive ridge path. At the end of the Three Sisters, the Gafadura Hut awaits, inviting you to linger and enjoy hearty home cooking.

Before sunset, you should make your way back via Planken to Schaan and Vaduz (depending on your starting point). In Vaduz there are various public parking spaces for cars (most of which are chargeable). The ideal starting point is the "Marktplatz" garage opposite the "Post" bus stop.
