City Music Tour
….on the trail of Josef Gabriel Rheinberger: The Liechtenstein-born composer and teacher Josef Gabriel Rheinberger was revered and respected during his lifetime (1839–1901).
His works were performed in some of the finest concert halls in the world and are today still of great importance to the Late Romantic period and the church music genre. He taught more than 600 pupils from around the world during his time in Munich, where he was musical director at the court of the eccentric Ludwig II of Bavaria.
Duration & Tour Programme
Lasting around 2 hours, this tour gives visitors a fascinating insight into the life and work of the famous composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. It includes a visit to his birthplace in Vaduz and a chance to admire a selection of exhibits from the Rheinberger family archive on show at the Liechtenstein National Archive. The tour concludes with a short musical performance on the Josef Gabriel Rheinberger Organ in Vaduz Cathedral.
