From the beautiful canal to the banks of the Rhine and the shores of Stegersee lake, Liechtenstein has a rich variety of fishing opportunities for both beginners and experts.
Steg reservoir
Located in the heart of the Alps at 1300 metres above sea level, Steg reservoir provides plenty of fun for anglers, whatever bait or technique they use. The reservoir is carefully maintained by the Liechtenstein Fishing Association and has a good stock of brown trout swimming in its crystal-clear water. Youngsters are also welcome to purchase a fishing permit and try their luck. Anglers wishing to fish at Steg reservoir are not required to have fishing licence. Day permits are available for 40.00 Swiss francs and week permits are available for 150.00 Swiss francs.

Catch quota: 6 fish per day
Season: open all year
Rhine and canal
The clear waters and sandy banks of the Rhine offer excellent fishing, with rainbow trout among the fish often caught. Guests wishing to fish in the Rhine or the canal must be in posession of a fishing licence.
Recommended for: hobby anglers (fishing licence required)
Fish stocks: rainbow trout, lake trout, brown trout, grayling
Catch quota: 4 fish per day
Season: 1 February until 30 September (guest fishing permits issued for the Rhine) and 1 June until 31 August (guest fishing permits issued for the canal)
