Easy christmas cookies for young and old.
Ingredients (for 50 pieces)
- 250g butter
- 250g sugar
- 500g flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- lemon zest
To coat
- egg yolk
- water
- cream
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180 °C bottom heat.
Prepare the dough
Beat butter, sugar and salt until fluffy and sugar is dissolved.
Mix eggs and lemon zest and add.
Add flour through a sieve and knead everything into a dough mixture.
Sprinkle flour on work surface and roll out dough to about 10mm thickness.
Chill for 1 hour and let the dough rest on a sheet of paper.
Cut out and chill again for 5-10 minutes.
Brush cookies with egg yolk, water and cream.
Bake for about 20 minutes until the cookies are golden brown.
